COPD, often due to emphysema, is a chronic progressive lung disease that cannot be cured. Symptoms typically worsen over time, with increasing shortness of breath and weakness. Supportive services including in-home, palliative or hospice care can provide expert symptom management and compassion for people living with chronic lung disease, as well as their family.
